And here are my thoughts on this horror musical:
📽️💀 4/31 Nights of Horror: In Frank Oz's Little Shop of Horrors (1986), an exotic plant develops a taste for human blood and ambitions for more.

Second review up. My thoughts in the thread below.
📽️💀 2/31 Nights of Horror: In Erik Blomberg's The White Reindeer (1952), a woman uses magic to lure her absent husband back and becomes irresistible – with dire consequences.

I'll be posting my #31DaysOfHorror journey over there. One film a night till Halloween.
📽️💀 1/31 Nights of Horror: After refusing to help a ship in distress, an isolated fishing community faces the wrath of a Draugr in Thordur Palsson's The Damned. My thoughts below.

I never managed to get through 31 horror movies in the run-up to Halloween. But this year I'm prepared: a list of 31 films is waiting, with classics, some of my favorites and quite a few I haven't seen before.

The moment you abandon perfectionism, you actually start finishing projects.

One of my tallest orchids: Dendrobium Blue Happiness. A reliable bloomer ever since I got her in 12/2019. What makes this plant special is a divine scent, which turns out is quite unusual for this hybrid.

I finally stumbled across a true-crime article I read years ago and thought I’d lost forever. It starts with the brutal murder of three teenagers at Lake Waco in 1982, but piece by piece, through shifting perspectives, Michael Hall unfolds the whole story. One of the best longform pieces I’ve read.

No wonder so many myths revolve around the northern lights. Just breathtaking.
Can it get better than seeing an auroral substorm on a frozen lake in Alaska with no one else around, calm winds, new moon, -20 F, and bortle 1 skies?

Still rusty, but already making progress. Different lighting and easing up on the pressure helped a lot. Graphite on paper.

I just caught up with Alien: Earth. Setting the show on Earth (the belly of the beast) makes concepts like life owned by corporations more tangible. Generally, it has some really interesting ideas, so much that the xenomorph sometimes feels like the least interesting part.

I really need to start writing down spontaneous ideas. "I'll remember it" usually ends with a sacrifice to the void.

I haven't drawn in years. Expected worse, tbh.

My Dendrobium Enobi Purple ‘Splash’ is in bloom again. A small plant with opulent flowers, bought in 10/2022. This season she’s even working on two more stems. I had wanted to take proper photos of my orchids for a long time, so why not start now?
