This plan is the first of its kind in RI & would transform our city into a place where everyone could get around on their chosen mode of transportation more safely & efficiently.

Claudia from @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social is right. Many of our urban centers are significantly less populated today than at their peak. By rebuilding our village centers via infill development, we can restore the vibrancy that defined our communities.

In 2009, it was down to 13%. The public health implications of this are clear: rising obesity, less community, more isolation. This is a perspective, I believe, is not shared with enough frequency when we discuss how our cities and towns evolve. (3/3)

A sobering fact shared during the film is in regards to the dramatic decline in the percentage of children walking or cycling to school. For instance, in 1969 48% of children ages 5 to 14 walked/cycled to school. (2/3)
