Honestly, as much as I miss the nostalgia of “older” games, I am beginning to realize there are plenty of games over the past half decade I have missed out on. For example, as much of a Capcom fan as I am, I haven’t played the REmakes yet… I’ll be rectifying that this year.

Now that I’ve had a bit of time to experience Monster Hunter Wilds both solo and with friends, I can say that as an experienced player, it felt wonderful, although some mechanics were never necessarily explained. I’ve seen a few newer players struggle too, so the difficulty feels just right. But…

Started playing the Pokémon mobile TCG, solely to collect cards if I’m honest, and after saving up for a 10 pack opening I think my entire luck for the year has been used up…

Man, I really like video games. Sometimes they tell tales we need to hear, and other times they offer solace and an escape. It truly is a beautiful medium.

From the little news I’ve allowed myself of the sub classes coming to BG3 with patch 8… Looks like another playthrough is back in the menu.

You put up a fight, Baltimore. Those fumbles and the DPI didn’t help, but now it’s back to the drawing board to work harder and prevent those mistakes in the future. The hay is in the barn, and it’s time to rest up and approach it all again with a fresh mindset.

Something that has been fascinating me recently is how we tolerate certain things in video games because we enjoy a series, but if another series does something similar we lambast it. I’ve been attempting to be more conscious of this myself.

After reaching the anomaly grind in Monster Hunter Rise, all I can think is that I feel like Dr. Pimple Popper. What a whacky mechanic that combines apexes, guild quests and investigations. I kind of like it, and I wonder what they will cook up for Wilds.

I have realized that some game genres no longer captivate me like they did when I was younger, which is a shame. However, it gives me more time to focus on games that currently captivate me… Which is freaking awesome.

I swear, some games were meant to be nothing more than immersive comfort...

It will be a fascinating case study to look back upon the changing landscape of social media overall… Suppose it’s time I gave it a try again.
