We could leave the Christmas lights up ‘til fuckin’ February, apparently.

On weekends and holidays, I find myself spending the whole day in pajamas, usually in bed.

I can’t tell if I’m depressed or have finally figured life out.

Taking the stupid dog for a stupid walk for his stupid mental and physical health.

Do the super-rich not know they’re edible?

How do they think this is going to turn out?

Whoever decided to make red candy hearts cinnamon-flavored was a sadist.

So, wait: Was I the only one who actually _liked_ to code?

“We have everything we need. How can we help people that don’t?”

That Jeff and Betsy asked that question, much less acted on it so completely, brings joy to the blackened cinder of my heart.

OK, so: I’m in the Epstein files, in the dumbest possible way.

Twitter used to send e-mail digests of tweets from people “in your network.” Because Epstein was involved with Silicon Valley ghouls, one of my posts was included in his mail and is now evidence.

I think I’m going to take my existential crisis off-line for a bit.

Has anybody considered that allowing conciousless machines to generate massively complex software faster and easier might be a bad thing while the fascists are running things?

At least you could punch Big Balls.

Do you like car culture? Because the heedless adoption of tech in the name of efficiency and without consideration of the long-term societal implications is how you get car culture.

The old programmer culture is dying, and the new programmer culture struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters.

I just note for the record that the naming inspiration for Gas Town — the agentic-coding coordinator — is a brutal apocalyptic dictatorship whose mayor (the character, not the agent, if there’s a difference) is called “The People Eater.”

We have returned to an age of wards and sigils.

In a startling escalation of its enforcement actions, ICE raided Usha Vance’s womb this morning, and detained her fetus.

After the embryo was confirmed to be a US citizen, it was released from custody, in a parking lot in Texas.

So how, exactly, is the current Democratic Party leadership any different from a Potemkin opposition, existing only to fill the space where actual resistance would go?
January 22, 2026 at 3:30 AM
I replaced the Washington Post with the AP ( https://apnews.com) as my primary news source after Bezos made it clear that “Democracy Dies in Darkness” had become a mission statement. Haven’t regretted it for a second.

There are 27 amendments in the US Constitution. The Trump Administration is now ignoring the 4th, bringing the percentage that they actively oppose to about a third. https://apnews.com/article/ice-arrests-warrants-minneapolis-trump-00d0ab0338e82341fd91b160758aeb2d

Well, all things come to an end, and so, just shy of 11 years, I am no longer employed by Tom's Guide.

If you're looking for a guy who can mash sentences together real good, feel free to give me a jingle.

In my experience, fortune favors the dipshits, but maybe that didn’t look as good on the poster.

“Microsoft chief Satya Nadella warns Thing People Don’t Want boom could falter if people continue not to want it”

Who wants to be the one to explain markets to the head of a multi-trillion dollar company? Is he just used to people not wanting Windows and it selling anyway?
