These changes profoundly impact coastal agriculture, aquaculture, wetlands, and mangrove ecosystems, with cascading effects on food systems, carbon cycling, and ecosystem services. This session invites contributions that explore the biophysical and socio-environmental dynamics of coastal landscapes, with a focus on understanding, monitoring, and managing ecosystem change. We welcome studies using field data, remote sensing, and modeling approaches to assess land-water interactions, track carbon dynamics, evaluate the resilience of coastal agroecosystems, and guide adaptation strategies. Interdisciplinary work that bridges natural and social sciences or engages with community-based solutions is especially encouraged. This session aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and geographies to advance coastal sustainability and climate resilience.

Despite the travel woes, I was able to chair 2 sessions on #coastal #landscapes (+our research on #saltwater intrusion, led by #EASELlab member Manan S.), to serve as an invited panelist on AAG session on “Introduction to Media” and to see/meet old/new friends/colleagues. @geographers.bsky.social

Had a quiet breakfast this morning after an intense week of brainstorming with fellow experts for the IPBES monitoring assessment and a ridiculous amount of coffee. BUT we have a near-finalized chapter outline and a plan moving forward. Am I ready for the holidays?! Oh yes!

As one of the co-chairs for the assesment I am nervous and excited to host.

Oaxaca was amazing! Spending time with my community - Land System Science scholars - was just what I needed last week (and always!)
