NEW: Per a source, an EPA reorg may be starting tonight, with some people offered to move positions or be subject to RIFs if they decline. Details not yet clear.

If you know more I’m on Signal at davevitan.26, you can remain anonymous.

Not much good news to share in the fed science world, but our garden is rocking!
Built my raised bed just in time—since the government just uprooted the vaccine advisory board.

No ACIP? Looks like this administration plans to start planting its own science—no roots, no data, just spin. 🌱🐾

@magaziner.house.gov , any plans to answer the Feds in your district that have reached out to you? Why have none of our reps visited the Narragansett Bay campus? GSO, CRC, EPA & NOAA are experiencing great losses already.
Trump launched one of the biggest attacks on labor in history—illegally stripping collective bargaining rights from 1.5M workers.

If he can do this to federal workers, he won’t stop there. My colleagues and I are fighting back.

EPA's Office of Research and Development is a treasure trove of valuable tools. 🧪 If you don't know Antony Williams, you've probably used the tools he's developed. Link at the bottom of his post: f1000research.com/articles/6-1...

My dog's posts are not endorsements and do not reflect any Agency since he in fact does not have a job. #GoodBoyPerspectives
Sat down the other day to reflect on the state of things—feels like we’re all just covering up the mess underneath and pretending it’s comfy. Sun’s out, but I’m squinting at the future. Maybe if I hold onto this ball tight enough, everything will make sense. #Politics #GoodBoyPerspectives

Today URI terminated 13 employees from the CRC working in international development. A local impact from the devastating cuts to USAID. Several CRC members partook in a cold plunge for solidarity.

Yesterday Trump EPA withdrew a pending Biden plan that would have set discharge limits on PFAS (forever chemicals).

NIH and other federal health agencies have been instructed to cease external communications indefinitely. This means that grant programs—the money that funds life-saving university and hospital research—are currently in limbo. This includes VA research on veterans’ health.
