The Canadian government is ignoring research and the voices of green business and is cutting our brand new greenwashing law. Read more in our Globe and Mail op ed today.
Opinion: Ottawa is scrapping Canada’s greenwashing rules. This is a mistake
Canada should not back away from holding firms to account for what they say about the environment

Farewell to my trusty steed (who was apparently liberated by a stranger on Front Street last night)! I bought her at a Halfords during my postdoc in the UK 20 years ago and we spent so much time together (especially during the pandemic) in and around Toronto #biketo

I'm really noticing how it's getting harder to be relatable to undergrads. My first year teaching I remember saying "10 years ago, I was sitting where you are now" and this semester I had to go with "I've been a professor as long as you've been alive" (insert out-of-touch Simpsons reference)

I suspect that spending a week in hospital this spring after rupturing my appendix made Small Rain by @garthgreenwell.bsky.social especially meaningful to me, but the descriptions of home renovation trauma and joy, the beauty of trees, and the close readings of poetry resonated too - such a pleasure

I don't think so honey: reporting sampling efficiencies/recoveries/biases in the methods section but then NOT actually saying if the results have been corrected based on these values. Happens so often and drives me up the wall

Such an interesting and enjoyable listen
This is hands down the best, most enjoyable, and far-ranging discussion that I have had in recent memory. Katie brought so much to this interview about vibecessions, “finance guy” memes as politics of social reproduction in casino capitalism, Bama Rush and DSA.

There have been arguments to redefine #PFAS that seem to be politically or economically motivated.
We (20 scientists with PFAS expertise) argue here that the definition of PFAS should be unambiguous and based on chemical structure.
