Atmospheric chemist, professor, reader, baker,
This is the first winter in 3 years that I didn't plan a snowpack chemistry field experiment, and then only get like two days of data, so it's totally my fault that Toronto is getting so much snow this year 😳 #snowTO #ONStorm

Toronto is at the special triple point, aka that rare "wintry mix" trifecta where the three phases of H2O are rain, ice, and snow. (My skin agrees there is no water vapour present in the air)

The Canadian government is ignoring research and the voices of green business and is cutting our brand new greenwashing law. Read more in our Globe and Mail op ed today.
Opinion: Ottawa is scrapping Canada’s greenwashing rules. This is a mistake
Canada should not back away from holding firms to account for what they say about the environment

On a flight from Toronto to Atlanta last week, the pilot announced we had moved to a lower flight level because of staffing shortages in air traffic control! When do planes start flying with hazard flights flashing...

Sad the #bluejays lost but honestly could not have handled another extra inning game, especially after the clocks changed

This motion is very disturbing, and I very much hope it won't pass, but in my reading of the text, I only see mention of access to the identity, comments, and scores of the evaluation committee, not to peer reviewers. Either way, demanding access to this information is very problematic

Farewell to my trusty steed (who was apparently liberated by a stranger on Front Street last night)! I bought her at a Halfords during my postdoc in the UK 20 years ago and we spent so much time together (especially during the pandemic) in and around Toronto #biketo

I read it during an undergrad summer, possibly the last period I had the time (and patience) to finish it!

or are you just bragging that you finished it?

I'm really noticing how it's getting harder to be relatable to undergrads. My first year teaching I remember saying "10 years ago, I was sitting where you are now" and this semester I had to go with "I've been a professor as long as you've been alive" (insert out-of-touch Simpsons reference)

A tactical blunder putting off my cottage holiday until so late that overnight lows are in the single (°C) digits, but the views are still great and I might work up the courage to swim...
