Autistic burnout isn’t just autism + burnout. It’s something so misunderstood that most safe spaces don’t feel safe for me right now. Stop assuming you understand and stop speaking for us.

I’d much rather hang with neurotypicals who listen when I say I need something than neurodivergents who say “we’re non judgmental” or “I’m neurodivergent / overstimulated / sensitive too” and keep doing whatever’s not working for me.

I’m seeing biased AI categorizing people in new ways.

A world where people have been so burned before that we enter professional and romantic relationships and even friendships like 3rd degree interrogation / negotiation

If we want change to happen, we need to stop gatekeeping information and supports behind expectations to prove motivation (whether through accomplishments or overcoming hardships.)

I like having company while making art so I can meet my relaxation and social needs simultaneously, not so I can fast forward through my hobbies. I want to make art and be around creative people without my hobbies becoming about optimizing my journey to what others are socialized to find energizing.

The word “multipotentialite” feels productivist / elitist to me. It didn’t hit me until I heard someone identify as an omnipotentialite. Omnipotent! Like a god? I’d rather identify as an explorer.

Is there a term for this phenomenon happening to a lot of millennial / gen Z Americans? We grow up with an overly positive perspective, then see problems with the world, then get told by orgs / spheres that it's safer somewhere else, then see problems there too and don't feel like anywhere is safe.
