There are wild irises growing on the banks of the American River near my house and I really need to bring a camera with me next time I take a walk, my phone just does not do the setting justice

New comic book day!

I just recently finished reading (and loved!) Something is Killing the Children and figured I'd go all in and read these:

We're experiencing a beautiful spring in my part of California.

Trying to enjoy what I can given the state of the country right now.

Me, a grown adult, watched her first Studio Ghibli film last night (Spirited Away).

I can't believe I waited this long.

Princess Mononoke is next, since I already purchased it :)

1. Did you know March is #WomenInHorror Month? Some of the finest horror has been written by #women.
- Frankenstein (1818) – Mary Shelley
- The Haunting of Hill House (1959) – Shirley Jackson
- We Have Always Lived in the Castle (1962) – Shirley Jackson
- The Woman in Black (1983) – Susan Hill

Just finished Elegy for the Undead by Matthew Vesely.

The book was recommended by and purchased from @carpelibrum.bsky.social.

Excellent read, a queer love story set amidst a zombie outbreak.

There's a house in the neighborhood that I affectionately refer to as the Cat House. I see a different cat almost every time I walk by.

I took a short jaunt to the Sacramento River on my break. Quite pleasant.

Support an independent book shop, the store they want to buy is so cute!

Also this book just looks interesting, lol.

I just finished all the Walking Dead comic books and am going through zombie content withdrawals.

Elegy for the Undead, by Matthew Vesely
Jude and Lyle's newlywed life is shattered when a vicious attack leaves Lyle infected with a disease that transforms him into a violent and often incomprehensible person. With no cure for the "zombie"...

This is why you fight these cowards.

The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.

Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights.

He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.
a stammering Tom Homan on AOC: "She's the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress."

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

I believe the studios should set aside space at multiplexes for important films and artists whenever someone important passes away. This would deepen the appreciation of film history for the curious average viewer and give space to all those looking to engage in something akin to a cultural funeral.
