Talked to a dad of a kid in my son's class. he didn't want his wife to take his last name because he didn't want her to be judged by a Hispanic last name. He asked the school what they'd do to protect his brown kids if ICE showed up. Extra glad I had already asked if the school had an ICE plan.

Guess I have to go speak to the school board... My eldest's class has gone through 3 teachers in 2 years, just losing another who didn't even make it through the semester. Notified via email, principal and superintendent say parent meeting will not happen.

Two demographics doing really well under Trump
Had a sleepover with my (also adult) sister last night while our mom watched our boys. Thrifting, dinner, movie, sleep, yoga, spicy bookstore, and back to the boys. It was amazing and I think adult sleepovers definitely need to be more of a thing.

Oh my goodness y'all... I just realized my 3rd grade teacher read "Where the Red Fern Grows" to the class... My oldest is in 3rd grade. That book broke me (especially when we watched the movie after...) but my person and animal loving boyo would not be ok... I think he'd have nightmares forever.

So, how do I ask my coworkers In the Baltimore area how they're doing with *gestures at all that's going on in DC/ the world* without it being taken as political, but still being clear enough that I'm an ally and want to know they're safe? This would be taking place on teams, hence- discretion.

Watching Enterprise with my 4yo named Archer when he was sent home from daycare the other day for not listening and realizing how much of a curse that kid's Faith of the Heart is.... No one is ever gonna bend or break him...

I'll be running in a memorial day 10k. My dad is a veteran, and I want to be respectful, but will have a bib specifically to write an in memoriam... Is there anything I could write respectfully that also makes a point? Maybe Elisa Rae Shupe? But with her thoughts, would that be a dishonour? Ideas?

husband, 46, broke his leg 2 years ago, body can't handle manual labor w/ no chance to advance. got an email Fri "we'll get to you asap." I warned him of this. We're in CO Spgs, that= tons of govt/military/contractors. I keep thinking he's so close to getting it, if he hasn't by now, will he ever?

Empty Chair Town Hall was a great experience. I wish I could have stayed the whole time, but my sign got some love. Super easy when your congressman has a name like Crank (loved the speaker who said to not call them representatives because they aren't representing us!)

Taking my kiddos on a road trip to KS with my Fox News addict dad in a few weeks. I will be driving. What should I force him to listen to? He retired out of USAFA, should I go for the jugular and listen to Wild Faith by @swordsjew.bsky.social ? Maybe QAA? Or play it safe with @ologies.bsky.social?

My kiddo had a snow day (remote learning) today. They called it yesterday evening since the forecast called for a blizzard. Snow didn't even stick, it's 39*F and super sunny. I'm pretty sure this is what we have to look forward to with NOAA not having any folks left to get better forecasts...
