I once cared for a baby who died from pertussis, a tragedy I’ll never forget. The family was pro-vaccine, but the baby was too young for their first dose, and Tdap during pregnancy wasn’t routine. Vaccine decisions aren’t just personal—they profoundly impact the most vulnerable among us.

At this conference of nurses who care for people with HIV and we are all still in shock over these changes and how it will impact public health, health care, and research. Living through the early days of COVID-19 under this past Presidents administration was so challenging and here we go again.
