I had the privilege of presenting some of my PhD work on the intersection of sexy selfies and class, with UC's CCCR. I poke holes in art schools & question where feminism might have it wrong on women's sexuality. It was photography-led so it's not your average set of slides :)

What a sad day for Australian art. Great to see many of our arts leaders stand firm and resign from Creative Australia and/or pull substantial funding. This stuff is next level.

The Amazons of Avignon, a French feminist collective, has been plastering the walls of the city with testimony from the trial of the 51 men who were convicted in the Gisèle Pelicot rape case. "It’s really obvious that shame is on the side of men," a local artist said.

Had the distinct pleasure of listening to Jelena Dokic talk today at the National Press Club. What a force for change she is - for encouraging victim/survivors of abuse to find their voice, for busting up all-male commentary teams in men's tennis and for centring loving-kindness as her way of being.

Fascinating presentation by @marynwoessner.bsky.social on community responses to the abuse of children in sport. Interestingly, many felt sexual abuse was ‘manageable’ in the sense they could go outside their org (to police), but every other form of abuse is without such clear support.

Great presentation by Patti Millar on ‘newcomer’ (migrant and refugee, mostly Muslim) girls in Canada, and their experiences of school sport. No surprise structural change is needed to support them. Greatest myth is that they don’t want to play sport - they do!

UC represent! Christmas has arrived in Geelong, as has #SMAANZ. Looking forward to presenting with Joanna Tweedie tomorrow morning and to having more conversations with @cordway.bsky.social (pictured) about feminism and sport ✊🏼

This is such great news! Congratulations to you and your team 👏🏼
🥳🥳 Funded!

Amazing news today that our project on creating safer sport communities in Australia was funded by the Australian Research Council. Led by Kirsty Forsdike, this three year project is going to be really transformative. So proud to be an ECR in this mega team 😍😍

I mean, in principle I totally support the idea of men playing contact sports, but let’s be honest, their bodies just weren’t designed for it 🤷🏻‍♀️ #womeninmalefields
