Interesting paper in PICJournalWatch this month - single centre cohort study of renal outcomes 11 years after PICU admission! One of the few studies I have seen with such long follow-up. AKI was associated with CKD 11 years later pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39585355/
Kidney and blood pressure outcomes 11 years after pediatric critical illness and longitudinal impact of AKI: a prospective cohort study - PubMed
This study provides novel data showing that adverse kidney and blood pressure outcomes remain highly prevalent 10 years after critical illness in childhood. The association with AKI wanes over time.
