Sculpin tank is ready for new arrivals this summer! Two remain to keep the tank cycled and they got the penthouse suite!
Two multi-chamber tanks on a wire rack. They are both connected to a sump below that is also connected to a chiller. The top tank contains water and one large chamber with a pile of cichlid rocks with holes in them. The other tank on the bottom sits empty to dry out.

I wouldn't be here without NSF. I've been close to walking away several times. Each time I thought, "let's just see". I applied for the PRFB and got it! This kick started my research program and increased my competitiveness on TT apps. In short, it motivated me to keep going.

We had a big flash flood yesterday. Here are some of the critters I found in the water.
Two snails look over the edge of the grass blade they are on, seemingly checking out the water below. A little brown skink rests in the water on a grass blade with only its head poking out. A dragonfly fell in the water and is floating on top. I rescued it right after this pic. A spider rests on a very small grass blade that is protruding above the water line.

So, I saw fire ant rafts today. You never realize how many colonies are around until it floods. Kind of gross but also kind of cool that they can do this.

Here are some photos from Cat Island off of coastal Mississippi this past weekend. Being in saltwater feels like home to me.
