This is my senator and I'm going to be fighting for this. We have a Bad Place Congress and it will not pass, but I am feeling hopeful for a world where we can reduce the number of mass shootings we have in America. More than one is too many.
The time to act is now.

I'm introducing the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025.

I'm anxious/stressed all the time and am looking for ways to take action. @votefwd.bsky.social is writing letters to Wisconsin voters, but you know what, all the letters are spoken for (!).

It's not true that everybody's checked out. I think most of us are trying to find that one way in.

There are so many things we can't do. This is sort of a drop in the ocean kind of thing, but unionization efforts matter, especially in a country trying to erode... basically all our rights.

I was getting myself all ready to wade into the confusing depths of applying to a NEA creative writing grant. Unfortunately, my work is only about DEI and "gender ideology."

I started this post intending to make a joke, and I literally don't have one.

San Diego county is considering banning trans participation in sports. Imagine. The world is on fire and we have a constitutional crisis, so by all means, let’s freak out over non-existent problems. You can share your opposition to this here: sdcounty.granicusideas.com/meetings/210...

I was pro-choice before becoming a parent, but being pregnant took it to another level. It is an excruciating body experience––and I wanted to have a baby! NO ONE should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term.

I aspire to a life like President Carter's: love your wife with your whole heart; be generous and kind with your time, knowing you have some to spare; and put some damn solar panels on your house. (I've already done that last one, and always working on the first two.)
