She/her/hers. Mama, public health wonk, Quaker. Nerding my way through secondary infertility. Watch more women’s sports and elect more mothers.
This is just completely lovely, Tash Cloud is such a gift to both the Liberty and, like, humanity: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/29/p... (gift link because I support those of you who unsubscribed, 100% fuck that guy)

I feel specifically really good about my candidates as actual individuals and their records and positions, not just because they’re the party nominees, for Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough President and Council Member… and would also love to have at least one woman to vote for next time.

Jonathan Bailey? Perfect choice. Let’s keep that trend of correct selections going today, ‘k?

I’m so excited to have voted for Zohran and I don’t agree with him on the ballot measures and that’s OK!

It’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. We had two chemical pregnancies for sure, one horrible month that might have “just” been a false positive, and two failed IVF transfers. It fucking sucks and if you’re in this shitty club too, I love you.

I am enormously relieved and exhaustedly excited to share that after two and a half bewildering, grueling years of secondary infertility, I am 21 weeks pregnant and everything is looking great.

Good riddance to Eric Adams… but we still Don’t Rank Evil Andrew for Mayor.

We all got our flu and covid shots yesterday and yes, our arms do hurt today and the kiddo has a bit of a temperature but it’s such a relief, and so maddening that it’s a thing at all.

Another beautiful September day. I believe in NYC.

Massive love and solidarity to the Free DC protesters. I’m on my way home from three days mostly spent in a hotel basement there but it’s a wonderful city that deserves peace and freedom (and statehood).

I’m away at a conference and while my nearly four and a half year old kid has gone with my husband to my MIL’s without me before, it’s my first night away from home without him. I am simultaneously glad, sad and weirded out at how utterly uneventful it feels.

THRILLED for TT that she’s playing singles on the big stage but fretting for her that it’s so late - Mama has to play doubles tomorrow! And none for Ostapenko, bye.

A dear friend of mine has a new public school librarian role in a wonderful, very diverse NYC community that is home to many low income students this year, and she just into the library and it needs SO MUCH, including a working printer. Please help if you can. www.donorschoose.org/project/a-sm...

US friends: Don’t be fooled by the headlines, many MANY of us still qualify for a COVID booster this fall, the criteria are very broad (I’m not telling you this to defend this pathetic, dangerous joke of a government, but to encourage you to still get vaccinated!).

I just got gentle parented by my four year old 😂 “I know’s it’s frustrating when I won’t go to bed” he says in a calm even voice as he climbs into my lap an hour and twenty five minutes after bedtime

Kids are so weird and wonderful - ours hasn’t been to Target since last year, but the ones he was used to visiting with us are both in malls. He hasn’t mentioned it once.

You can tell most people who make websites live in driving cities, or it would not be so infernally maddening to try to do anything simple online between subway stops.

Just watched the AJLT finale. What… was that?

If you’d told me seven years ago I’d be planning an entire trip around an ice hockey match I’d have looked behind me to see who you were talking to, but, you know, marriage. (And Gritty. Mostly Gritty.)

Jeff Hiller’s memoir Actress Of A Certain Age is absolutely delightful, and has made me heartbroken all over again that Somebody Somewhere is no more.
