I rented a wall in the local art club I have been volunteering with. I’ve become the Membership coordinator and Marketing chair, due to low engagement. I’m hoping to help grow the club, which is one of the oldest of its kind in the U.S. It was really fun to hang my disparate works together!

Today I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women.
More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications.
I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.

I just gifted myself a Shcherbak Oleksi book. This young Ukrainian artist combines illustration and traditional figurative painting to create visceral layered portraits.
This painting feels to me like a physical interpretation of half remembering a dream.... "A memory in a bright room" (From series “Victims of Grenouille”), 2023, by Shcherbak Oleksi.

No one really appreciates this one, but it’s one of my faves from last year. It’s an acrylic painting of some of our fridge magnets. I made shrinky-dink magnets for my 2nd child when she was little, and the one with me on it happened to get beheaded🤔. #artist #womensart #motherartist #painting #mom
