My book reviews section is the only non-dark mode section of my blog so I had to get it (mostly) working for two colour schemes. I need to get around to properly doing dark/light mode across the site sometime.

It snowed overnight in Tokyo. One of my goals for February was to get a photo of a warbling white-eye or "mejiro" (they are so cute!)
... and then there were a couple flitting about in the snow-covered bushes right outside my apartment which made things pretty easy 😂

A fire has broken out on a super popular mountain trail in Kanagawa 😢 You can see an aerial video on news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/766... where the mountain hut has been completely destroyed - really sad to see. Hope they can contain it soon.

Added a new category on my blog - a map 🗺️
I've put 4 posts on it to test it out. Next up is adding a lot more posts + some filtering so it's a bit easier to use as well. I'm back to work tomorrow (after a nice long holiday break) so this is where I'll have to leave it for now 🫡

Added a new category on my blog - a map 🗺️
I've put 4 posts on it to test it out. Next up is adding a lot more posts + some filtering so it's a bit easier to use as well. I'm back to work tomorrow (after a nice long holiday break) so this is where I'll have to leave it for now 🫡

So my blog's repo is like 5 - 6 GB at this point due to all the hiking images. I've been procrastinating on hosting all the images elsewhere since it seems like effort but I'm trying out Cloudflare R2 and it doesn't seem as hard/annoying as I thought it was going to be (famous last words, maybe)

For some reason my blog post on Cursor has been the most-viewed post on my blog for quite a while now, from people finding it via Google search.
... I think everyone immediately clicks out of it though because the post was like 9 months out of date and was for Cursor v0.4 while it's now up to 2.2 😅
