Closing up 2025, the fourth and final quarterly status update post of the year.
2025 was not a good year for me: I mean, I don’t imagine that it was a very good year for a lot of people. Whether this was in relation to the current political climate, the advancements in slop tech, whatever the case, I think that this year was one that a lot of people would like to move past. In my case, there were definitely events in my life that held back this year from being anything acceptable. In the very first month, one of my cats died and my state caught on fire. In the last month, I broke my arm, making it the first bone I’ve ever broken in my life. In between all of that, most of the goals I had set for myself this year were never met. I had a lot of optimism going into 2025 and all of it is likely decimated. So...about that whole music thing: The current state of my music is very polarizing. I somehow released less music this year than I did last year, and last year I released 6 whole songs. This year was 4. On one hand, all of them sounded amazing. I feel fairly good about my arrangement, mixing, and design skills. On the other, I’ve had numerous identity crises about where I want to take my music. This time last year, I mentioned that I planned on more remixes and a consistent release schedule. The former had only one of these be made, and the latter didn’t happen at all, primarily because in February, my then distributor, Soundrop, was bought out, causing a MASSIVE delay in releasing one of my tracks and me to hop between other distributors, depleting a ton of my motivation in the process. In the latter half pf the year, I announced a short hiatus in order to address said identity crises and direction. I don’t want to talk about that too much aside from short progress is being made and, very fortunately, a plan is coming along. At the very least, I am eager to release something in Q1 2026, but I can’t solidly confirm that yet. And the other plans?: Obviously, more fursuit videos did not happen, as well as any short form media in general. (continued from first image) I didn’t focus on it at all this year and that’s probably for the best given I was much happier doing other things with my time. I’m not sure that they’ll ever come back either. Currently, there are no plans in my mind to continue them as they are not a style of video creation that I feel I can focus on (somehow it was so much easier 2-4 years ago). Creation process videos and behind the scenes stuff didn’t happen either. Maybe it was in the form of one or two videos filming my DAW, but I can’t be arsed to look back and see. (start of image 2) Now what?: Honestly, I don’t want to put pressure on myself and list of the things I absolutely have to do this year. Every time I do, these things never come into fruition. I’m waiting until they are far enough in production and not simply an idea before talking about them at all publicly. The actual plans will happen when they happen, and I want to give myself enough time and patience to work them out, as well as not keep them in my head for so long. However, if there is one thing I do know that I will do this year, it’s talking more about what I like. It’s no surprise that the internet, for better or for worse, is a very negative place. I find myself posting more complaints and vents online than I do talking about what actually makes me happy and the stuff I’m into. Definitely expect me to talk briefly about things I’ve read, watched, played if I ever finally get around to my Steam library. One more thing: One thing I mentioned in last year’s year retrospective post was that I expected 2025 to be unexpected. This seems to be the one thing I got right, and I was correct to fully embrace for impact. It took a whole lot out of me to the point where I am 100% cautiously optimistic about 2026. I both can and can’t imagine the year being worse than this one, but I feel that I can go up if I put my mind to it. Closing words: Last year, I mentioned to never stop creating, something that became very hard for me to do this year. It’s clearer than ever now that this is something that we should all strive for, as well as keep community close. Friends, family, groups, whatever the case, your sanity will be healed by your control and those around you. Take care, all, and be the best you can be.

I feel mainstream social media culture and the platforms as a whole are what cause so much damage to the furry fandom nowadays.

Impressionable people exposed to only the safest aspects of topics and accustomed to villainize anything "bad" because someone with a large platform encourages it.
