Mumford and Sons was always a great band, lots of people just couldn’t/can’t handle how earnest their music was in a sea of irony

The only I thing have to add to the “stomp-and-holler” music discourse is that as a kid who grew up around fiddles and banjos and mandolins and trad music, it was really cool to hear those sounds played on mainstream radio and have people listen

It’s always “Ladies, if you are alienated by overwork, drop out of the public sphere and become a tradwife” and never “Ladies, if you are alienated by overwork, form a union.”

Small mystery uncovered: three identical misspelled “slow watch for CHIDREN” signs spotted in Saskatchewan!

The first is near my parents’ house and has been there for years. The other 2 are also from SK but different areas. What’s the story!?

Today I had to go to school in a snowstorm and played volleyball against my will while wearing flared yoga pants. Is it my 29th birthday or my 14th birthday

I love seeing all the library support, but here's some realistic ways to help, from a former public librarian:
- Circulate materials. Budget is often based on circ not only overall, but genre/category as well
- Volunteer as a shelver if that's something they do
- Don't "donate" your old crappy books
