I wonder if some of this has to do with growing up with more punk and pop-punk influence, whose community was more likely to make comments about dykes (in my personal experience) both in and out of the music itself.
Just musing about some stuff. I was watching something a friend sent to me and it included "dyke" (as a reclaimed word for a person who identified with it) and it just sort of struck me that I feel a connection to that label. I don't present masculine or anything but something about it sort of stuck
