I post about movies, stuff I do like art and making mounts to hold fragile old things, random life stuff I think is clever, and sometimes life advice from a trans man
Everyone is on edge right now. Check in on your people. Check in with other people who may need help. Just keep in mind, many people have varying reasons to be scared, and may not react as you expected. Do your best to be good anyway

Today's Trans Agenda:

-Continue to be heartsick over the state of my country
-Repair a pair of shorts for my partner
-Pay bills
-Fret about my partner whose D&D cohort temporarily went MIA
-Eat half a box of fiddle faddle while doomscrolling
-look at volunteering opportunities at the parks service

Back to being Cali sober.
It's been a loooong 9 days.
The urge to scream, throw things, & numb out has been fierce.
To those of you having a hard time with the world & everything going on in it, I see you. Don't give up. *They* win if you give up

I just. I just don't think we will be able to come back after all of this as a society.

Made it about halfway through the new "Final Destination: Bloodlines" ('25) movie before turning it off. I have gotten soft in my old age it would seem, and really brutal rube goldberg d3aths, combined with seeing Tony Todd eaten away by cancer were just a bit too much for me

"The Naked Gun" (2025)

Same schtick as the original movies, but for a modern world. Liam Neeson & (Surprise!) Pam Anderson play their parts straight, which just adds to the fun. If you like d*ck jokes, you're in for a treat. Not for the serious minded

Went for a walk yesterday. Mobility exercises this morning. Never going to feel like 20 again, just trying to maintain below 100

"Fascination" (1979)

A fashionably suited thief disrupts the calm in a sprawling French countryside home. Disturbing the bisexual inhabitants, and vampiric cabal, in this very picturesque bit of vintage smut

We're having homemade mac n cheese with a "Twilight Zone" ('59-'74) marathon for the evening. You do you.

See you in 2026

On this, the last day of the year, I got the sign I was looking for, in regards to life, the universe, and everything. Surprisingly, it had no connection to 42

Look, I get it. One of our neighbors smokes ciggs & another, weed. No reason to make the building suffer with chemical flower freshener, however.

My solution: cooking Korean Kimchi soup

I give you ALL the smells!!!

I love when people tell me about their favorite movies. Even if the movies they recommend are not my cup of tea, it helps me get a little peek into what makes them happy. And that's pretty neat

"They Call Her Death" (2024)

If you're looking for a slick big $$ blockbuster, this ain't it. This is the modern grindhouse cinema Tarantino dreams about making. Gritty, low budget, with great cinematography, & soundtrack. A cross between a 60's western & exploitation flick

People asking: What's your resolution next year?

Me: Just surviving. I stopped actively producing art and promoting it because I knew this year would be a sh*tshow. I needed to take care of me & mine.

And TBH, as much as it pains me, 2026 might just be the same

Cuz even if you have insurance, in the US, do you really? Especially when the company can decide, months after a surgery, that the anesthesia is now 'out of network'.

Ho-ho-ho

However you celebrate, have a good day. And if the day is shite for you, remember, it's just another day

How cozy Yuletide traditions got their start with raging parties and animal sacrifice

I have inadvertantly created something worthy of any evil magician in a 1980's sword & sorcery film

Not my better work in that I couldn't find my burnisher for the bezel and thus tried the rubber disc which just took too much material away. But looks ok at normal conversational distance away

Having to watch a bootlegged copy of a video from another country because my country censored it is making me feel as if I'm living in 1980s Eastern Germany.

Copy/ paste is your friend. As is the space bar. A simple search for "oranges" produces limited results, but space and "oranges" allegedly pulls up hundreds of results

"Influencers" (2025)

A very well done cat & mouse story that trails through beautiful locales as this story about influencers unfurls. Not at all what I expected, & didn't fall into any tropes that it easily could have. Definitely added to my paranoia about being visible online
