This is the AI utilization I love to see, and that this was created by a teenager in my home state is a tremendous source of hope

I can’t tell if The Last House on the Left (2009) was a bad movie or if I’m just really deeply not interested in “🍇and revenge” as a subgenre

Spent most of the day curled up in bed with our lil guy, reading the Exorcist for the first time, snow falling outside. Worked a nap into the mix too. 10/10 day

Fully lucked out and last night’s mystery movie was exactly what I’d hoped: Eternity. It was lovely. But my favorite things about it were Da’Vine Joy Randolph and John Early. We adored this one

Heard y’all are doing Noirvember? Well, this kicks off with someone’s mom taking two to the face while working and then gets dark. Literally and figuratively. I promise. It’s what barrio noir does.

For my birthday, my husband is taking me to a $5 mystery movie a local theater does every Monday. You don’t know what you’re seeing til you’re seated. They have a full margarita menu and also a full hot dog menu. I am so excited (and secretly hoping the movie is ‘Eternity’)

After Longlegs I am so ready for more Osgood Perkins
November 7, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Finally watched Longlegs—spooky, skin crawly, slow burn, and I think Longlegs is one of the scariest horror movie monsters I’ve seen in a long time. Right up there with Aunt Gladys. He’s just out and about in public going shopping, looking and acting like an utmost creep, in the community?? Ok

Having a religious emergency declared by a long-dead British queen because I converted her people to a religion I named after my cat has been one of my favorite moments in my months playing Civ 6. Gus Almighty compels you!

Got to see Shelby Oaks in theaters today. Definitely more laughable than scary, and though it’s for Flanagan attached to it, didn’t feel Flanagan at all. But we had fun

Finally watched Weapons—I loved it, and thought the story was fucked, but I did expect it to be a bit scarier? Cregger is a bit hit or miss for me, but this one was all hit.

Got me again. ‘Sarafina’ will probably be incredible
Thrilled to share the cover of my upcoming novel, SARAFINA, coming from CLASH Books in April 2026.

This is a paperback original with a cover by Joel Amat Guell and an introduction by Nick Cutter.

SARAFINA is a Civil War-era horror novel, and might just be the scariest thing I’ve published to date.

Treated myself to a special edition of The Exorcist from Bookshop today 💕 Spooky season reading is in full swing, and as usual, if you’re buying books, buy indie or at the very least don’t buy from Jeff
Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚
