Same in Burlington! We’ve had a fully constructed sit-down Cook Out for a year that hasn’t opened. No drive-thru sign or pole sign and every week is a new rumor re: what is going on.

We have new neighbors in their 20s and their front porch faces directly east. Yesterday they put out several big pumpkins and I have to restrain myself from telling them "TOO EARLY! YOU ARE ABOUT TO MAKE ROTTEN PUMPKIN PIE ON YOUR FRONT STEPS!!!!" This is a lesson they have to learn themselves.

David Owen wrote about my dad's 1968 junior prom with the Yardbirds at St. X, a story I have heard more times than I have heard him talk about my own birth.
Before he formed Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page played a prom, in 1968, with his previous band, the Yardbirds, at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. The president of the school's junior student council at the time tells David Owen about the experience.

My 8-year-old kid wants to get into baseball cards. This weekend I'm going to go through my old cards with him and pick a favorite team and favorite current players. I have not kept up with baseball. Would anyone like to make a case for their faves?
