We should not wait for our power-driven politicians, the profit-driven infotainment industry, and, sadly, many pastors and seminarians and parishioners to stop marketing fear and contempt. They’re not likely to change anytime soon. But we can change — one person, one relationship at a time.

I am wary of sermons or Bible studies that focus on politics or candidates or culture wars. There should be very clear lines between the ministry of God’s Word and discussion of political beliefs. Why?
