Lulu is like many kids you know. She lives in a house with her mom, dad, and sister. She likes soda, hopscotch, and comic books.

But there is one way Lulu is different: she’s a bonobo.

Want a signed and personalized copy of one of my books to give to someone you love? I'll be at Books of Wonder on Tuesday & will sign any orders while I'm there. Just order through their site--they ship worldwide! (TBBU pictured for reasons of handsomeness, but they have the rest of my books, too.)

Just finished Arthur C. Clarke's 2061 (the third book in the 2001 sequence). Can't recommend it, but I did enjoy one line very much: "Our solar system is composed of the Sun, Jupiter, and assorted debris." 🤣

Science fiction writers: Applications are open for Launchpad, which I can't recommend highly enough. A week in Laramie with world-class faculty teaching you the fundamentals of astronomy. I had a fantastic time when I went a couple years ago. www.launchpadworkshop.org

Get the highlights of a Hamline MFA in Writing for Children, in just a weekend and for a fraction of the cost! I can't wait to learn from these three (and to discuss how to get around the dreaded first-chapter exposition dump).

Today's the day! My entry in the Mrs. Z's class series is out.
It's been a delight to collaborate with these amazing writers. Under @katemessner.com's guidance, 17 different authors are each writing a book from the point of view of a kid in a single third-grade classroom.

There's plenty of evidence for homosexual sex in dolphins and orcas, who also happen to be the whale species who conduct their sex lives in the shallows, where researchers can observe them. For many baleen whale species--like blues and humpbacks--
