We've now suffered the tragic loss of Tatsuya Nakadai (92), Japanese film icon, and my personal favorite actor. He's the GOAT. I want to go through all of the films of his that I've seen to pay tribute to such a wonderful and talented actor.

Alright so didn't really hit any of the top priorities of the format (huge L) but Entomb + Nadu ban decreases Legacy's overall "well that's dumb and immediately wins"-type games, so I can't be TOO bad. Not sure what I'll do with Gobs from here, but I'm at least interested in trying things out now.

Something really perverse about Magic's direction is just how much it is a product attempting to hijack your identity. Century-of-the-self-ass card game. Prove your devotion to your toys by spending absurd $$ on serialized, hyper-personalized advertising in the shell of a game piece. It sucks!

Very genuinely will kinda freak out if they don't ban Planar Nexus and/or Kozilek's Command. The extremely explosive colorless combo deck that kills you through turn 1 Null Rod pretty easily is not okay.

EW Top 8 pretty clearly signposts which decks need to be taken down a peg. Colorless Bullshit.dek and UB Reanimator (again). There's a lot of fair discussion to be had about what exactly should be hit though (other than Tamiyo 100%)
