Back to reading Marvel Transformers. I've been considering the differences between the US and UK issues. Overall, I think the US issues have more clarity than the UK issues. There was a baffling page in the 1st UK Auntie arc where it's just Windcharger and Ravage jumping through a green background.

You know... I think it'd be nice to write some middle grade stories that have a similar feel to my childhood reading experience--going through my parents' paperback collection of 60s-80s genre fiction.

Claims that Transformers Energon Universe is "edgy" are always funny coming from IDW1 fans. You thought the torture death camps were "showing the realities of war" but a guy getting ripped for parts is "too much"? Starscream killing a human with his bare hands is too much but not pressure explosion?

I saw someone complain about copyright law making it impossible for writers to read fanfic of their work... Look, I love fanfic and I actively write fanfic... I would not to read fanfic of my own work at all. Pointing to copyright is such a great and safe way to turn down reading a rando's crackfic.

I'm getting to the point of given up trying to read X-Men comics. I want to keep trying, but I keep striking out and picking up issues that require a full year minimum of context to even kind of follow what's going on.

There are some frustrating endings in the Transformers franchise. One of the most frustrating is the Lost Light double ending. The "Megatron goes free after killing billions of organic and mechanical life" one is annoying enough, but also the ending where he turns himself is real frustrating.

You would think having your car break down less than 3 hours after you got your oil changed, emissions checked, and registration renewed would be enough for one day.... And then my tooth broke while I was eating crackers. I JUST finished paying off a root canal last month!

At this point, Transformers Animated is a more faithful G1 reboot than 95% of all the series actually being called G1 reboots.
