Author, researcher, mom, gardener, a little witchy when the moon is full. Just trying to be a decent human being. Black lives matter.
Why, yes, I have been eating an entire Marie Callender key lime lime #cheesecake by myself over the past week. I regret nothing.

I feel so bad for my #cats. We are #moving into a new house and have been in temporary housing for a couple of weeks. They're just starting to get comfortable here and will be whisked off to a new (but permanent) home this weekend.

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to spending the next 5 days on my own. It's a mini-vacation. I can eat what I want, when I want, and watch any show on TV. I can make coffee in a dirty mug. They're my own germs after all, and there are only 4 mugs in this AirBnB anyway!

I just re-subscribed to Netflix, which seems idiotic now because there's nothing on there I want to watch but I couldn't see that there wasn't anything until I subscribed.

What should I watch that isn't too graphic or cussing every other word?

I just realized that bringing shorts to Cleveland in April was the equivalent of forgetting an umbrella. I made it rain for an entire week, people. #Cleveland #Weather

I love this guy
Rick Steves — the guidebook author, trip host and massive personal travel brand — has put his personal commitment behind the cause of anti-fascism, with a self-funded documentary hosted on his own website.

Respect.
History speaks. Europe’s lessons from a century ago can wake up and inspire our democracy…in 2025 America.

The T*ump tariff nightmare reminds of my beagle. He absolutely hated getting baths, but once it was over galloped ecstatically around the bathroom.

T*ump thinks he's giving us a hard time but we'll be so grateful when it's over we'll forget to be furious with him.

He thinks we're beagles.

Something you should know about me: I'm usually reasoned and careful about what I share and get upset about, so the fact that I'm sharing as much political stuff as I have been lately is not my normal state.

Trump's Social Security just made it harder for millions to get benefits—no more phone applications for retirees or survivors. Seniors & disabled people are being shoved online or forced to travel miles, all in the name of “fraud prevention.” This is deliberate cruelty disguised as policy.
New Social Security rules will create hurdles for millions of seniors, report finds
A new report from a left-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities finds that upcoming changes to Social Security will amount to a "45-mile trip for some 6 million seniors."

The hardest thing about living with someone of opposing political views is trying not to be angry with them over, say, what's in the fridge when I can't talk about the stuff really bothering me.

I've learned over the years that anyone and I mean ANYONE that's more concerned about people playing the system for disability benefits. Than those on disability currently suffering and not receiving enough support. Does not truly care about disabled people.

Every time I watch a movie or read a book where the bad guy wants to destroy the kingdom/world/universe I wonder why. Who wants to rule a ruined domain?

Now I know. It's so their subjects will be so desperate just to survive they'll agree to anything.

This is something that needs to happen. These companies use exploitative labor practices and micro-plastic shedding fabrics that are terrible for people and the environment while evading proper tariffs.

Trump closes loophole used by American shoppers to buy Chinese goods tariff-free
The so-called de minimis exemption allowed Chinese and Hong Kong retailers to ship millions of packages worth $800 or less directly to U.S. consumers. That loophole will close May 2.
