I’m looking for #adjunct instructors for graduate clinical child psychology courses at PAU. For accreditation, you would need to teach in person in Palo Alto. It’s a great way to built teaching experience with a very engaged cohort. Reach out with questions!

Can the human sciences exist w/out the human? Proposals for using AI as human research subjects suggest yes. But @mjcrockett.bsky.social and I respond with, ‘not so fast.’ In fact, silicon subjects say more about the problems of the research paradigm than the promises of AI. 🚨New article, thread 1/

If any of my students would rather learn from a LLM than me, they are welcome to. I suspect few would pick that option, though.
Wow. Just wow.

I have long complained about the absence of ‘interoception’ from Microsoft Word’s internal dictionary, but today I would also -shockingly- like to highlight the absence of ‘orgasm’. New paper (with many unrecognized words) coming soon.

There is a long and misguiding history of blaming mothers for autism. Unfortunately these accounts still hold appeal for many despite the science.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

In a study of Gen Z's personal goals, "to be safe" ranked as the top priority, outweighing traditional teenage desires like popularity and fun. A developmental psychologist explains what this says about growing up in an era of constant crisis:
Gen Z seeks safety above all else as the generation grows up amid constant crisis and existential threat
Recent generations may have taken safety for granted, but today’s youth are growing up in an era of compounded crises – and being safe is their priority.
