Wonderful words from @sachacoward.bsky.social
I am one of the 14 authors who chose to leave the Polari Prize, and I find myself frustrated and saddened at the way this entire story has been represented. 1/

I’ve not logged on here in a while — if anyone’s been following the Polari news, I posted a statement on Instagram yesterday that I have officially withdrawn. It’s been a rough week. See more here: www.instagram.com/p/DNOMzrUMhs...

I came across the photo on the left this morning—taken by my now-wife at Gay’s the Word in early 2019. I love how similar it is to the photo on the right, at my book launch in June 2024.

With the US TikTok ban I might actually post on here a bit more — it’s so difficult navigating social media at the moment, especially when it’s a big part of your job!

Kind of forgot about this app, but I’m back for the new year! Hello! Just here on a quick lunch break from writing about lesbian fashion in the 1920s…

I should probably start with an introduction!

So: I’m Eleanor Medhurst, and I’m a historian of lesbian fashion. My first book — Unsuitable: A History of Lesbian Fashion’ — was published in June, and I also write a blog, dressingdykes.com!

I live in Brighton with my wife and my spoilt cat 💖
