I say this as a huge Edmund McMillen fan: Of all the times to try and play the "enlightened centrist" card, this one was certainly one of them.
I was already not that into Mewgenics since it didn't look like my kind of game (gameplay-wise). But all this cameo stuff is just tactless to say the least

bad people can and often do make good art. attacking the art as retroactively subpar to free yourself of moral dilemma and give yourself permission to not care means you're innately equating quality of art as representative of moral virtue (it's not) which is how you get purity culture
