It annoys me to see environmental organizations in the West say that "no country has been invaded for renewable energy" when Elon Musk literally staged a coup for lithium in Bolivia in 2019.

A green transition that continues to appropriate the resources of the Global South is not a just transition.

Even if soldiers are being "forced" to commit war crimes, it doesn't make their actions any less appalling.

Of course, joining the US military is a choice in the first place.
The fact this brave child-murderer is blocking everyone dunking on him (for the crime of racist mass murder and such) is funny. Courageous enough to go shoot unarmed civilians and children, but not enough to face some social media criticism!

Maps are fundamentally political, so as freelance writer Emma Bainbridge explores, the Orange Wig's obsession with reshaping maps is simply another way of legitimizing repression.

I've spent the past month trying to understand what's going on behind the scenes at Ottawa's Capital Pride after they mysteriously removed their Palestine solidarity statement. Thanks to @theleveller.bsky.social for publishing this!
Queers For Palestine #Ottawa organized a demonstration within the #CapitalPride parade. For weeks, Palestinian solidarity activists were organizing - so were politicians and pro-genocide institutions. We explain what really happened in the run-up to these events.

In January, I was verbally harassed and accused of anti-police prejudice by an officer when checking in on an unhoused man being harassed by police in the Montreal metro.

Removing people from metro stations doesn't fix homelessness, and police actively harm the vulnerable people they interact with.
🚇 Experts say the STM "move-along order” in metro stations marginalizes the city’s most vulnerable citizens by pushing them back onto the streets.

International energy companies, such as BP and Chevron, are becoming increasingly involved in Israel's energy sector and therefore fuelling the genocide of Palestinians. This article offers a really good explanation of Israel's "energy diplomacy" strategy!
Energy exports play a central role in Israel's campaign to normalize relations with its neighbors and avoid accountability for its ongoing genocide of Palestinians. An energy embargo on Israel should go hand-in-hand with calls for an arms embargo.
