So excited to have received a Catalyst award in support of outreach! I'm looking forward to teaching others about the evolution of vision!
Congrats to lab postdoc, Dr. Emily Kopania, on being selected for a Catalyst Award from the Center for Evolutionary Biology and Medicine! Her project will develop a Virtual Reality experience demonstrating to students how other species see the world through their differing visual systems.

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the @mblscience.bsky.social Visual Neuroscience course these past two weeks! The MBL is an amazing place to do science and I learned so much to support my vision evolution research.

Today is Day of Remembrance of the forced incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII. It's more important than ever to remember this history and defend the rights of immigrants and minorities.
On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which authorized the US military to forcibly remove over 120,000 persons of Japanese ancestry and launched their mass incarceration into concentration camps during World War II.
