My Noon Year’s Eve Music and Movement library program was a fun time for all - Running across bubble wrap for the win! However, the best part is I’ve already done a countdown so I’ll be in bed by 9:00 - probably would have been in bed by 9:00 even if I hadn’t done the program 🎉

Been pretty quiet at the branch I’m at today but a family just walked in and the little one looked around and said “All the library toys are free - I don’t have to wait for any of them!” And off they ran to play kitchen. ❤️

Fancy signs going up in North Dakota. I haven’t been back since the last election my heart just couldn’t handle it - but this gives me a small glimmer of hope.

The joyful feeling of handing in your final project for the semester before the feeling of dread sets in while waiting for your final grade. I did however go into the final project with a 100%.

Have had a drivers license for 38 years and never got a ticket but this year I managed to get 2! Both were camera issued tickets and both were from driving to one of our library branches. Might need to take a small break from driving to that branch. 🙄

Have found The Great Canadian Baking Show to keep me happy until I can see the next season of The Great British Bake Off.

Exactly how much does one put in an outline for teaching a database? Writing one for a class assignment for ERIC and not sure I have enough written content. 🤷🏻‍♀️

One more day of work for the week and then a weekend of homework palooza and pie!

Why do I always get so worried that I have done my homework completely wrong. Haven’t so far but of course first time for everything.

Have spent the last week trying to get anyone to answer me at my school as to why I had a hold on my account. All I wanted to do was register - today the assistant director of my department managed to get the hold taken off. Few days late but was able to register. Things shouldn’t be this hard.

Went years and years without having to have prescriptions of any kind and then I hit my 50s and feel like I spend a good portion of my month waiting for this one or that one to be filled. 🙄

Librarians told 404 Media they're being inundated with new pitches for AI library tech and catalogs are being flooded with AI slop books.

But more broadly, AI maximalism across society is supercharging the ideological war on libraries, schools, government workers, and academics.
AI Is Supercharging the War on Libraries, Education, and Human Knowledge
"Fascism and AI, whether or not they have the same goals, they sure are working to accelerate one another."

If you and your children are not ready for a particular book, that is okay. It is not okay to limit the access to books, stories, and experiences for other families. Every book is not for everyone, but every book is for someone.

CO voters decide feeding kids is the right thing to do.
And in my county Douglas. Four progressive school board candidates with 36+ combined years of public education experience resoundingly beat four alt-right fear-mongering candidates with ZERO years of experience in education.

Working on a Lib Guide for school. Haven’t found a platform I understand all that much so starting by just writing the annotations so I can cut and paste later. Not due until the 16th so have time to figure out a blog post platform but makes me miss the days of Geocities.

I need someone to help figure out an actual Halloween costume next year. Or at least help me get my butt in gear at least a week before the actual day. 👻

Got both my COVID and Flu vaccines today - not sure how this will work out since I usually end up sick especially after the flu shot - but I have a fresh box of tissues, a cozy blanket and some hot chocolate packets. 😊
