Greenshot hasn't had an update in years, but other screenshot tools still haven't bothered to replicate its two must-have features: auto-zoom with arrow key trim for precise capture boundaries and "Capture last region". No faster way to cleanly grab successive wizard pages (especially in 4k).

If you install Windows Admin Center v2 in gateway mode, you need to grant Read permissions to "NETWORK SERVICE" on the certificate's private key. Installer has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it line in the that marks the certificate "invalid". I found no events or evidence besides page load failure.

Lack of "goto" makes my #PowerShell uglier. Lots of "if($that -and $alsothat -and $thattoo -and $ohyesthatotherthing)" or functions that will be called exactly once in exactly one order or... worse. I could really use a nice "goto cleanup" and "goto nextmajorchunk".

Amongst all the cloud talk, don't forget that you can still run a #WindowsServer instance on-premises in #HyperV for somewhere around 18-22 months at a similar cost to running it in Azure for one month. Have you seen all the new things in Windows Server 2025?

Did you know if you do the command shutdown -t 0 -sg, it will shutdown your PC, but also preserve the apps you'd had open before shutting down, so when you boot your PC back up it will open them again? 👀

Thank you to the #msignite presenters that used light mode! Aesthetics and preference aside, light text on dark background forces you to focus in software (your brain). Dark text on light background allows you to focus in purpose-built hardware (your eyes).

Nadella opened #MSIgnite with a quote how "computers don't give a damn, but we do". That was followed by a demonstration of using AI to essentially Deepfake yourself. The angles of abuse for this are astronomical. Didn't Walking Dead teach us that humans are the monsters?
