A new project is seeking volunteers to help record the heritage of South Yorkshire’s 250-year-old waterways. The Canal & River Trust is updating a survey last carried out in the early 1990s, charting changes to the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation. Volunteers will use

Yanno, if England follows the USA down it's current right-wing path, there's a real chance that in a few years I could find myself deported to Ireland.... A place I left aged around 2.
Not to be alarmist, but I'd better start getting my financial ducks in a row, just in case.

Their union advocates strongly for PA and AA, but this is the crux of things: the GMC "should be creating a proper scope of practice with a defined structure for supervision for patient safety".

Yesterday evening I rescued a young bird from my cats.
The same cats got me up at 3am just now. When I came downstairs there was a dead bird exactly like the one I rescued next to my chair.
The murderous little fuckers may not speak our language but they certainly know how to communicate.

I know it's lame but I bloody love volunteering at Park Run!
You're my little speedy family. I could never... but I'm more than happy to cheer you all on.

I'm having a "damn, life is GOOD" weekend.
Friday: drove up North, saw my Mam & took her to the opera.
Saturday spent with son, brother and in-laws.
Sunday ENTIRELY ALONE INCLUDING THE NIGHT, bliss.
Today: just chilling with Himself doing cooking and cracking stupid jokes.
Bloody perfect.

Started watching a romcom.. . Set in New York but EVERY main character was played by a Brit, playing a Yank:, Russell Tovey, Bloofer Lady from Dracula, Celia bloody Imrie! The only person playing a Brit was Sam off Outlander and his accent was so muted I kept forgetting he's meant to be Scottish 🙄

If I have have to turn my device's brightness up to max AND close the blind just to see what the hell is happening on screen, know that I'm turning off immediately.
(Yes, I'm talking about #Sinners, but it's not alone in this pitch-black-filming madness).

Been to the Glasshouse (née Sage) in Gateshead to see Simon Boccanegra. Brilliant place to stage an opera - acoustics awesome. Incredible singers/orchestra, loved the chorus singing from various places in. All in all, wish I'd discovered opera years ago - it's not just for poshos! #OperaNorth

A great example on #r4today of how the government needs to be building COMMUNITIES, not just houses.

Houses need shops, GPs, dentists, schools, INFRASTRUCTURE around them.

Aside from the fact that all the new houses need to be truly affordable & that’s not what’s happening, is it?

Oh well, I'll be starting them again.

Mother (aged 73) has been selling me on the new Bergerac.
I've yet to watch an episode, but we are agreed that Philip Glennister has "rizz" in spades.
My son would like us to never again use the word "rizz".

The sad thing is, I think Joanne Rowling truly believes she's a force for good, defending women's rights and safety. She is so proud of herself.
Meanwhile most people just see that mad bint in the mouldy castle seeing danger where none exists and shrieking her needless terror across the void,

I don't know why, but my discover feed is full of cartoon drawings of women/girls. I'm blocking every single one where the clothing is sexualised and/or the woman looks more like a child.
So far that's every single one.
Bear please.

Last night I had a dream that I can't quite remember but that won't leave me. One of those ones where you're seeking something, along with your dream family but a little sideways... I've spent the day feeling off- kilter and would very much like to pick up where I left off.
Damn you, brain.
