As an unrepentant contrarian I can't help but wonder how the monster in Frankenstein got to be so sickeningly pretty.

I've seen a number of public figures state that they think the next war - China vs tiwan, Russia vs Europe, some BS thing going down in america - will happen in the next 3-5 years.

But I wonder how many wars have there been when the onset of hostilities was widely known before hand?

The next contestants for the traitors should all band together - regardless of the roles they're assigned - and hold a lottery to pick who to vote out each day.

Then the rest of them can just kick back and enjoy the holiday, some activities, nice food. None of this stress and drama.

How is it that I can play 1000+ games of chess and get consistently worse over time?

There are two kinds of time:

1st is a coordinate in our 3+1D reality. Used together with longitude, latitude and altitude it tells you where you are.

2ed is a local weather variable related to the EM spectrum - it tells you roughly how much visible light to expect and where it will come from.

Thirteen months - 28 days each, one monthless day called 'new years day' which exists outside the system of weeks and months - two on leap years.

Clean, soulless, beautiful.

A while ago, around 2018 I think, everyone I know was really interested in the trolley problem and its relation to self driveing cars. Ever since I haven't been able to get out of my head how remarkably unrelated the two problems are. Morality just has nothing to do with collision avoidance.

A wheel of cheddar is the unit circle of cheese - the cheese against which all other cheeses are measured.

In the English speaking world when someone says this cheese is "sharp" or "soft" or "red" or "smelly" they mean its sharper, softer, nuttier ect.. *than cheddar*

We are so lucky that we get to die. There is an escape, one day every one of us will be permanently, unreachably unconscious and nothing will ever be able to cause hurt again.

Starlink used to feel like a halo of glittering promises, a sign of things to come. Now it feels more like a cage.

Option 3: Trump plays the role of a king expecting homage. M&S understood this and reaped their rewards, Z did not and reaped his.

Alternatively: the previous meetings went well because M and S were able to meet demands while Z was simply unable to agree to stop the fighting

Two brilliant meetings followed by a total train wreck. That felt like a trap.
