I think this is really important for people to hear. In todays dieting culture people associate the number on a scale with overall health. A lower number does not always mean healthier. #beh353 @beh353
I wanna talk about what weight-neutral nutrition is because there is still so much confusion and concerning takes on it from non-practitioners. Weight-neutral nutrition is about prioritizing health and well-being over the number on the scale.

Carbs are 1 of the macronutrients talked about this week. A fact shared in 1 of the articles posted, talked about how the type of carb is more important than the amount eaten. Foods like beans, fruits, and whole grains are better quality carbs than potatoes. #beh353 @beh353

I think its really important to note that oftentimes in profession and scientific settings woman are not always as seen and heard as men. Many studies in health do not always include woman, and many results are based on male bodies.
2025 made one thing undeniable:
the systems were never built for people like me.

A woman.
A mother of young children.
A scientist who is loud, who speaks hard truths, who thinks beyond sanctioned boxes, and who refuses to comply with a status quo that harms people.

1 thing that stood out to me while reading was a red flag. How in many magazines on health, they use exaggerated headlines and clickbait to get people to buy the paper. Companies will do this to grab consumer attention, weather or not the info is accurate. #beh353 @beh353

I am nursing class 28. I am taking this course because I needed a health elective in my schedule, but I also have an interest in nutrition. Is it true you cant have grapefruit while on certain medications? Healthy eating= no artificial foods. I love dark chocolate and fruits. #beh353@beh353
