I feel like this is possibly the definitive arrangement of "Lift Every Voice and Sing"?

There have been a lot of stories lately trying to reckon social media. The arguments are the same.

Instead, let's think about infrastructure planning and how to back up your public thinking.

A blog is boring. That's the point.

Blogging as boring
The Internet is still what you want it to be. I want mine to be boring.

The Pioneer Press had a good story the other day on downtown Saint Paul's skyway system. Worth the read.

Double-decker downtown: Walking through the past, present, and future lives of St. Paul skyways
The once-bustling above-ground network has been flagging for years. The time for reinvention has arrived. Plus: a deep dive into the skyway system.

This thing is my most photographed thing. A gem of #dtphx, still effortlessly floating above Civic Space Park

Now that I have been in Saint Paul for 3 years, and starting to be involved in its civic fabric, perhaps it’s time to start writing about it. It is an interesting topic.

On Saint Paul: The Skyways
With a new mayor in Saint Paul, can we set aside incrementalism for bold thinking?

With Waymo testing in Minneapolis (not Saint Paul, which makes no sense), the naysayers are out. The same criticisms were had when it launched in Phoenix. (Also, yes, i was one of them.)

It's fine. The bad stuff you predict didn't happen in Phoenix.

Waymo is coming. How will robocars deal with wintry Minneapolis roads?
Waymo is currently operating in temperate cities. It’s not clear how the vehicles will handle ice and snow, but there are local examples to learn from.

I bought a 28mm pancake lens for my Canon R7. Is it the best lens? Oh goodness no. But is it great for informal shots? Oh goodness yes.

Expect to see this space active with that! www.edwardjensen.net/photos/

It's been almost a year, but I've made quite a lot of progress on my website. It's amazing how much stuff you have to think of when you have to maintain everything, not rely on others to do so. I have learned so much!

In an otherwise dim year, what a spot of brightness to join with the worldwide community to listen in and commentate along with others during #9lc. Happy Christmas to you all, and let's do this next year?

Now the big question (at least for those of us listening to the @mpr.org stream): will Michael Barone talk over the first organ voluntary? #9lc

Looking ahead after the 8th lesson and the second Rutter, we have yet another setting of "I saw three ships". Which marine vessel will be our tempo guide? #9lc
Surely, this is “I saw three speedboats coming in / On Christmas Day &c.” at this tempo? #9LC

It is the hymn of our age:
"Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel-strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love-song which they bring:
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing!"
Amen! #9lc
