Edmonton is home to Animethon, Canada’s
longest-running Anime convention.

Founded in 1994, the three-day event attracts more than 15,000 attendees every year to the Edmonton Convention Centre for a celebration of anime, manga, cosplay, music, and gaming.

We had 400% more snow this past December than the 30 year average. This will not affect 2030 Worldcon because it usually does not snow in August in Edmonton.

On Spec has been the beating heart of Canadian science fiction for more than three decades.

The fact that the magazine has deep Edmonton roots fills us with a lot of civic pride, and is part of what inspired this Worldcon bid.
