Wrap your head around this: Spain is about 25% bigger than California in both population and area, but Spain has 2500 miles of high speed rail and California has none. Forth largest economy in the world my foot!!!

New park in my hood that is important for two reasons: It provides new landscaping around a 1000-year-old farmhouse (Torre del Fang, seen covered in graffiti), and it's the first little bit of what will eventually be a 2.5 mile long park extending to the Besòs river.

It started with 5 families. Now hundreds are biking to school together in Barcelona
On Fridays, kids and parents hop on their bikes and join the bicibús, or bike bus, traveling to three schools along its route. It promotes bike safety and environmentally friendly transportation.

They've just planted some pretty huge trees at the new park that's going in 'round the corner. Their trunks look to be about 24" diameter. To the left is a thousand-year-old farm house (Torre del Fang) and background is a garden folly by Calatrava.
