Dropped by local riverside park, N. cardinal X 3, Carolina Wren X 2, and a flock of “large streaked birds” spent too much time in Warblers and Thrushes before the brain clicked in and realized they were Female Red wing Blackbirds! At least once a year I get tricked by them

Multiple cattle, including at least one bull, has shut down or scrambled traffic on Interstate Highway 45 in Spring, Texas. Seems Rodeo Houston is over and the cattle are disappointed they can’t go any more this year!

Got educated yesterday
Spent a few hours learning how to classify “surface find” bottles at the local Historic Site. Found that I could not describe a bottle as simply a 6 1/2 Fl Oz Coca Cola bottle! Was told that current College Students have never seen a glass Coke bottle!!

Got out today, getting last minute things before the rumored weather change. Our govenor (Texas) ordered all flags be at full height today (yes, he is a republican). In our area, during a one hour drive through 3 small towns, ALL the flags were still at half staff.

Total count 192, our group official of 52 species. Our best bird was the Vermilion Flycatcher. Not rare but the fave of the 3 of us. Encourage the little guy! He was expressing his opinion os our photo efforts
