Anyone else remember when the Democrats let an old man stay in a leadership position far too long and it cost them dearly in elections?

Maybe learn lessons from history?

And we see end of American Democracy. Not a great event. Just a wet fart late on a Sunday night. A cowardly vote taken when constituents wouldn't have a chance to flood Senate offices with angry calls and emails before a vote was taken.

I hope whatever personal favors they've earned were worth it.

Fast wireless charging is still slow. I'm appreciating it when charging my phone overnight but it's barely a convenience.

What am I doing wrong? Is it supposed to be so ubiquitous in my house that whenever I set down my phone, I'm setting it down on a charger? Why is wireless charging a thing?

I built a Bracket 1 Simic ramp deck that plays no landfall and no X spells using Zimone, All-Questioning.

I board wiped artifacts. I killed two things with fight spells. I removed counters from an Elenda.

I was still accused by the table of being a Simic deck doing Simic things. 🤦

This is a thing that just happened.

(this is the social media account for the NBA team Orlando Magic. Yes, their fans are probably supremely confused. It's a good list, though, right?)

@sbmtg.bsky.social Hey Dev. I've been wondering about a variation on budget decks. What about a "billboard buildaround?" A 3x or 4x of a $15 card and budget around it. Like Cosmogrand Zenith in your recent UW deck. I get 60-70% trade in of tcgplayer low, so $36-42 of the $60 Cosmogrands comes back.

I feel like Roberts will be able to strong arm one other Justice to block the Federal Reserve firing. While it's impossible to get them to care about liberty or humanity, but I think the obvious threat to the economy may be a step too far.

(there is precedent for presidents controlling tariffs)

Do yourself a favor and watch Dev's latest 5 for $5 video. With paper standard on the rise, budget paper decks will be important in growing the playerbase and there's no one better on a budget than Dev.

@bdm.bsky.social A while ago, you said you were going to have a first playtest of your new game. I'm not sure I saw a follow up. I hope it went well!

One moment I really enjoy in a commander game is when I play my first spell if the turn and announce "Storm Count at 1" in a deck that has not given any indication up to that point that it is playing any Storm cards.

The doubletakes and inevitable "uh oh" is just so much fun.

It feels like no one with a humanities degree denies the importance of STEM degrees.

Whereas there's always been an undercurrent from STEM to question the value of humanities.

I know that's a lot to unpack there, but at least they all agree business degrees don't have a purpose.

@saffronolive.bsky.social There has been lucrative Monopoly slot machine licensing for a long time and the occasional D&D game, but given how Hasbro has treated Magic as a collectible, you have to wonder if MtG slots are coming. Maybe online casino only?

@mtggoldfish.com #MTGFishmail Do you feel the rate at which product is released has created a higher percentage of bulk rares?

Where are the $2-$4 rares in our trade binders that greased the wheels for making trades?

It feels like I frequently throw away an entire pack immediately after opening.

If politicians are just going to bicker about the budget anyway, why can't we have both parties bickering over it and pass it like normal legislation?

Just barely missed out of the English Weapons Secret Lair. I grabbed a Japanese one, because I want the Sword for a deck. I'm not worried about the crappy retail value of Japanese SLs.

I picked up foil Grimoire, because it was there. Not because I really want it. 🤷

So win-win for WotC, I guess.

I finally got to watch Captain America:Brave New World (on an airplane) and it's a very good movie.

That's not a hot take, but it's still good.
