A week ago I thought my friend was going to die in the hospital.

Today I can go visit them and shower them with love.

It's been....a lot.

Small businesses holding the line in the face of genuine hardship should shame any representative currently caving.

Also, buy a donut dice vault! Or a to-go coffee cup dice tower! Or a cute patch or sticker!

“Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man.
You take a step towards him, he takes a step back.
Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man.”

A good morning message for @deepblueink.bsky.social:

Your DeeDee plus is so loved by children. My friend's one year old gives it endless kisses. My six year old brought it to school today, and DeeDee's inability to sit is a source of endless laughter. Thank you.

This week, I started a ceramics hand building class, with the promise that I wouldn't use the time to make anything...productive? I'm trying to divorce it from my business completely.

It's unexpectedly hard to do!

Happy Halloween from Duck "It's A Nickname" Newton.

Hey @apnews.com, this article's "illustrations" are straight-up generative slop, what the hell?
One family fled Afghanistan. Then U.S. deportations scattered them across the world
What it means to seek refuge in the U.S. has been transformed, casting aside an ethos of helping the persecuted nearly as old as the country itself.

Scrub Nurse Moona

Fifth in a series of Moona ornaments, a tradition that I'm so happy to continue every year. Thanks, Tim!

Here is today's progress

Finally at the last stages of this project, where all the "trust the process" pays off and it looks so good I am jumping up and running around in excitement at every new step because I made that, I MADE THAT, and someone is going to love it.

Found this on the community board of the Y and I have a LOT of questions.

Making realistic figures feels a little weird sometimes. "Oh yeah, your cake topper is coming along, I've been staring at your picture for a few hours now trying to figure out your eye color. Also, do you prefer your hair parted left or right?

Buffalo Love

Not the topper I'm currently obsessing over, but a cute one that shipped out a few weeks ago.

Also a good reminder that I still have dummy cakes for photography, as much as it is tempting to bake one every time....🍰

I've given up on Repostober because I am working on a cake topper for an incredible person and I am busy overthinking every last ding dang detail, my gosh.

Repostober Catch-Up, Day 11 - Yellow Submarine Escape

Another obsession of mine - small scenes in resin, no doubt inspired by @leslielevings.bsky.social's little underwater monster scenes. I still have a giant box of shells, too....

If you're able, you should absolutely go see this exhibit. Watterson's works in person are beautiful. I was tearing up through the whole thing.

Repostober, Day 10 - Mica Leaf Artwork

I spent a few years obsessed with this technique, pressing leaves into thinly rolled clay and coloring them with mica powder. Spring was "Sparkle Season," and any work caught in the crossfire shone, too.
