A landmark Venetian Gothic church is #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek. Built in 1866, Ardrossan & Saltcoats Kirkgate Parish Church, constructed in striking polychromatic stone, has a four stage spire.

This is debate over the actual architect.

On 6 Jan 1835, a group of businessmen in China circulated a paper calling for a ‘Morrison Education Society’ to honour the legacy of the Scottish missionary Robert Morrison.

In 1839, the Society opened the Morrison School in Macau, the first Western-style school in China.
