Friday essay: ‘I was unseen, even to myself’ – as many as half of people with anorexia are autistic. Fiona Wright is one of them
It wasn’t until she’d been in the medical system for around 17 years, being treated for anorexia, that Fiona Wright was diagnosed as autistic.

Men are consistently under-represented in eating disorder research. We would love to change this!

If you identify as a man, live in England, and have lived experience of eating disorders symptoms (no formal diagnosis needed!), please consider taking part in our study on calorie labels 👇 #EDAW
We are still recruiting for a survey of people with eating disorders experience of calories on menus

We would love to hear from more people who identify as men.

🧠 Eating disorders often co-exist with autism, yet research in this area remains limited.

Foundation-funded Dr Fiona Duffy & Dr Karri Gillespie-Smith are working to change that.

Through @edaceatingautism.bsky.social, they’ve shared best-practice research guidelines. Read more: bit.ly/4k8JN8W #EDAW

Why is it that we say, "Can't imagine it" ('unimagineable') or, "Wouldn't think of it" ('unthinkable') but even though we say, "Wouldn't dream of it" we don't say 'undreamable'?

NEW PAPER: What do teenage girls think is causing the rise in depression & anxiety in their demographic?

I was struck, during the analysis, about how often 'pressure' came up. Girls are under so much pressure to look and behave in certain ways 😔
