Europe has already stepped up quite a bit, and I wouldn’t discount the amount that Ukraine is able to do domestically. They’ve got one of more impressive drone (both air and sea) programs out there. They’ve also really ramped up their missile production capabilities.

He’s definitely talking about the insurrection act - that was always the plan if SCOTUS didn’t let him use the Guard as his personal military force. He’s going to look for a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act and bypass their ruling.

He’ll probably try martial law before he’s done. Won’t work.

The Senate will be tough. No point in sugar coating that. We should still do everything we can to take it back, but it’s important to set realistic expectations.

At his current approval ratings, the House should be an electoral bloodbath. We obviously can’t get complacent, but I feel good about it.

Not if we do our jobs, it won’t. We need to make sure people are aware of the change, and we need to urge everyone to vote as early a possible in their states.

Barring that, we’re going to have to be willing to stand in line to vote on Election Day - we have a nation to save.

Get out the vote efforts absolutely help. The reason a lot of people don’t vote is because it’s inconvenient - some folks simply don’t *care* about politics until it impacts them directly.

And more states won’t implement mail in b/c they want the process to be inconvenient. Low turnout helps GOP.

I don’t think so, no. I think JD Vance will be the lamest of the lame ducks.

Remember how I’ve been saying that Congress is trying to find a way to reclaim their power from the Trump White House?

Well, they’re far too scared to do that, but they would gladly bully Vance. He won’t get shit done.

Not unexpected. Honestly, I'd have been more surprised if the series had been green-lighted at this point.

But I agree with @straczynski.bsky.social. B5 will be back eventually; it's just going to take time.

The guy overdoses on aspirin and eats the recommended daily allowance of saturated fat for a small elephant in one sitting.

No wonder he’s swollen and can’t stay awake.
Finally, Trump's diet! Oh my god. The piece closes with RNC Chair Joe Gruters saying he was "shocked" to witness Trump eat "french fries, a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburger, a Big Mac and a Filet-O-Fish" in one sitting (5/6)

Oh, yeah, that's right.

I'd completely forgotten that City Hall Station (and the New York Pneumatic Railroad) was one of the inspirations for the Van Horne Pneumatic Transit from Ghostbusters II (in addition to the new subway sewer lair from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze).

And he should be.

I would not date someone who believes it's appropriate to refer to human beings as "illegals" or votes for a rapist or believes in detaining people for their non-violent speech.

That's the difference.
