Like the fact that they didn't introduce us to the mundane earth cast until like 20 minutes into the movie ends up being very weird considering they're the ones that carry the emotional arc of the movie?

Follow up for anyone who was wondering: I did in fact get high and watch Master of the Universe. It was pretty good, though kind of a mess plot-wise.

I just finished watching the 1985 anime OVA Angel's Egg and I think I 100% understand it: Yoshitaka Amano did the cover art for the Japanese edition of Book of the New Sun, and then said "Hey this is neat, I wanna make my own!"
