I write stories for videogames, that I intend to convert into real games using Godot.
I've been following a bunch of kids on Instagram who hop trains. Came up with this short story for a game. This is more barebones. My second story about train hopping is much more dense. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegames #indie

I wrote a story for a short 2d action platformer with puzzle elements inspired by "Terminator 2D: No Fate" (similar to Contra 3). The focus is on story and characters. This one made me sad. The protagonist is a very strong woman with her own particular kryptonite. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame

I've had a huge spike of energy in the past three days and I started this AI-backed project to prototype my "girlfriend stealth game". This is insignificant but it's the most 'work' I've done in gamedev in 4 years, it feels massive to me. Hoping tomorow I can make this playable. #gamedev #indiedev

Watkins is an early indie game from 2000 made on "The Games Factory" engine, much simpler than classic Game Maker. It plays like a slow paced Donkey Kong Country. The creator no longer makes games and he's a musician now. #indiegame #gamedev #indiedev #videogames #gamemaker

Say what? I can force Godot 4.5.1 to run under OpenGL, then open the project and set the rendered to 'compatibility'? My laptop sounds like it's going to take off, but this is huge progress. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #godot

I decided to open a "3d platformer" demo in 4.5 to see how it was made, for the idea I had, but I get this old warning that I need Vulkan. Should I get a used quad core/quad thread PC with modern GPU (150€ ish)? I only have my i3 4030U/HD4400 laptop now. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame

Two very common themes in the majority of my concepts are huge worlds seen from a small person's perspective (like Toy Story 2 or It Takes Two) and child protagonists. For the past week a concept is haunting me where you play as a Korean toddler. It's a very dark theme but it has potential. #gamedev

Snowy night, light blizzard. A pack of wolves is walking towards a light in the distance and they're very hungry. A lonely hunter is hiding in his cabin, trying to establish radio signal. He can hear the wolves. When they arrive, would you kill the wolves or let the wolves eat? #indiegame #gamedev

It's a highly competitive FPS with realistic graphics but you play "air gun" in a big city against normal people. When someone is 'killed' they just duck. Like in that banned Xbox commercial from the 2000s. No blood, no violence. Just pew pew. #indiedev #gamedev

After arguing with a friend about indie games I said "Fuck it, I'm starting my game" so I opened a YouTube tutorial and started following along. I feel liberated. Been trying to start this for a few months now. Thanks drunk friend. (shown background tile, I have to restart project) #godot #gamedev

Should I port Calorio onto the Game Boy Color using Game Boy Studio? It could be a way to get back into game dev before I find the motivation to start a serious Godot project. I wanted to make the sprites a bit bigger and I can make some levels to test. #gameboycolor #gameboystudio

An animation from my old archive. I love cats but I didn't know how to make a running cycle. This was the best result! #cat #gamedev #gamemaker

Some highlights from 2001 when I was 13. We moved to Spain and I learned the language by watching Shin-Chan and Detective Conan on local TV, so I made 32x32 animations about them. I have 570 films and sprites in total. #pixelart #gamedev #animation #anime #shinchan #detectiveconan

When creating sprites for games, I always used Microangelo Toolset, which is an icon and cursor animation suite. It's been almost abandoned in recent years as icons are now high resolution down scaled images, but it was huge in the early 2000s with Windows XP. #gamemaker #pixelart #gamedev

A platformer I did in Game Maker 5.3 called "Restricted Forests". It was originally named Pavel Quest, after the titular eye glasses wearing protagonist, who also happened to be my classmate. It had several levels, without respecting window size, and I did all graphics myself. #gamedev #gamemaker

I made this map for one of my platformer games. I know it lacks more detail, but this was the best a 16 year old could do. #drawing #mspaint #gameart #art #videogames

Some pencil drawings I made in 2005, inked, scanned and then coloured in MS Paint. The bird was going to be part of a game I was planning. The other characters, I don't remember anymore. #drawing #mspaint #gameart #art #videogames

It's a drawing of the protagonist of the game I showed earlier, Calorio. Drawn with colour pencils. I made this in 2005 when I still enjoyed drawing. #drawing #art #pencilart #gameart #videogames #platformer

The first game "Dungeons of Fire" was clearly inspired by The Legend of Zelda, as I was playing the Oracle games or Link's Awakening back then. Today I noticed one of the biggest problems: the size of the map is too big for such a slow character.

Around the same time, made this platformer called Calorio, it was about a fat penguin. I also made a ceramic figure of the title character that I still have somewhere after 19 years.

This is the last game I attempted to make in Game Maker 5.3 in 2005 before quitting game dev. Should I give it another try? #gamedev #gamemaker #indiegames
